Café Riteve in the e-mail address above is the name of the kosher restaurant which adjoins the Gardens Synagogue in Cape Town, South Africa - situated near the foot of Table Mountain and adjoining the
Company's Garden, the synagogue enjoys one of the most beautiful locations in the world. Riteve is also the name of a town in Lithuania.
In An African Trading Empire by Hugh Macmillan (I.B. Tauris), it is noted that in 1882 Riteve was one of the first towns in Lithuania to be connected to the outside world by telephone
and in 1892 was the first town in the region to have electric street lighting.
