This logo is small, 11.2mm W x 8.2mm H. At a glance it may resemble a hechsher, especially no.671 on the Shapes index page. It formed part of the design of the label on a tin of King of the Sea™ Tasty Tuna. The hechshers on the label were Vaad HaKashrut of New York,U.S.A. and Beth Din of Crown Heights, New York, U.S.A.

Halaal has some similarities with kashrut but not sufficient for equivalence, especially in
the slaughter, inspection and dissection of meat, the mixing of meat and milk and the eating of shellfish.
In Arabic, "Halaal" is loosely comparable to "kosher" and "haraam" is loosely comparable to "treife."
